Spice It Up

Today's Sweet Life Health Tip is "Spice It UP."  I know people think diets have to be all plain all the time, which isn't a bad thing.  This way of dieting will help keep your calorie count in check, but for your the sake of your sanity, lets switch thing up a bit.

Most diets have an amplified amount of protein in order to preserve your lean muscle.  Below is a weird mixture that I used to keep myself from going A wall during my diet for last year's bodybuilding competition.

-  1 can of tuna in water

Do not use tuna in oil especially if your on a diet.  This will make you feel uncomfortable and you can not afford extra calories at this point.  You can also sub tuna for albacore in water of course.  The nutritional values remain the same.  They both still average about 26 grams of protein accompanied by zero carbs.

-  1-2oz of lemon juice

The lemon juice is great with tuna or any fish for that matter.  It will shake things up a bit without the calories of mayo.

-  Lite garlic powder on the top

The garlic will help as well with the taste.  Feel free to use the powder form or just grind it out.  Diced and chopped is pretty awesome too.

-  Lite amount of spicy brown or yellow mustard

As for the mustard, extremely low on calories and I was truly bored one day. I was 8 weeks into my precontest dieting last year. I kind of figured why not and I gave it a shot. I'm happy I did.

-  1-2 oz of relish

Relish will fall under the random experiment section due to the precontest dieting.  Great addition with very low calorie.

Don't knock this til you try it.  With boredom come great inventions.

Til Next Time,
