As I was strolling through the magazine section in Walgreens the a few weeks back, I came across the February 2012 issue of MuscleMag. Every now and then I like to scroll through and read articles regarding nutrition, exercise, etc. Towards the end of the MuscleMag magazine, I saw an article that was titled "Livin' La Vida."
Here is a piece was what the articled discussed.
"...Cuban-born Vida Guerra has gotten her props in mainstream men's magazines, getting covers and being honored with the title of"Best Butt" by FHM."
Featured in FHM magazine
The article goes on to discuss Vida's recent ventures. "...the 37 year old is racking up awards on NPC bikini stages. Guerra, who stands 5'2 and competes at about 105lbs, had auspicious debut at the 2011 NPC West Coast Classic, winning both her class and the overall in the Masters 35+ division...."
Here is a photo of her now.
First off, congrats to Vida. The NPC, and for that matter, any competition isn't the easiest thing to go for. It takes a lot of self discipline and focus, so God bless you on that. I just have a dispute I would like to air out. My comment on these recent turn of events is not going to be politically correct, but those that have been following me know that I could careless. Being as blunt as possible is just the way to go. I am truly happy for Vida. She's 37 years old and competing, which is blessing for anyone, especially someone in their mid-late 30s. Its not easy getting in that shape. She has truly reinvented herself and hopefully can bridge the gap between the NPC/IFBB and mainstream media. I really don't like to do this, but she should of keep her original facial features. The photos from her late 20s to early 30s were amazing, but look at her face. Now look at her recent work. In my opinion, she got something done. I don't know if it was due to medical reason or what not, but it got me and a few fans upset. God gave you a certain look, use it! She went to from Cuban born to American altered Italian. Again, I don't know why ... But .. Really?
NPC West Coast Classic 2011
In closing, I am happy for Vida Guerra overall. Back in the day, she really had a butt to die for, but now she's on her way in becoming pro and at her age, that's amazing. My only beef is why the face change. Please don't get me wrong, she was hot, still is hot and will be for decades to come, but she should of kept it Hispanic. We may never know.
