In the words of Rex Ryan, "It's GO Time".
On Sunday, January 23, 2011 the Jets and Steelers will meet at the river for the rematch that will determine who will go to Super Bowl XLV. The Jets incredible victory over the Patriots earned them a spot to go against the Pittsburgh Steelers to battle it out for the conference championship.
The defense New York faces is far more fierce than what it saw in Indianapolis or New England the last two weeks. Neither the Colts nor the Patriots have playmakers like Polamalu or LBs Harrison and Woodley . The Jets must get solid performances from tackles Ferguson and Hunter, plus dependable pickups from RBs Greene, Tomlinson, along with steady veteran Richardson. Sanchez must remain consistent and throw in some big plays such as the TD pass to Holmes last week or the one to Edwards that set up the winning field goal in Indy.
There's a reason why this is the Steeler's fourth AFC Championship in the past seven years, but regardless of all the statistics, I'm going to have a little faith and go with the hometown team.
Go JETS!
Final Score: Jets 24, Steelers 20
